SWS *: Smart Towbar Wiring System
The SWS smart towbar wiring system (*) enables towbars to be connected to multiplexed vehicles without any return of signal to the vehicle, therefore avoiding any disruption to the correct functioning of the vehicles’ electrical system. The SWS (*) is also programmable to the exact specification of the vehicle to which it is installed, using an easy to operate programming tool.
Technical advantages: F Connections can be made without knowledge of the vehicles wiring diagram; enables a harness to be fitted immediately a new vehicle model is launched in the market. F Protects the vehicle electronics from short circuit on the trailer.FNo re-programming required of vehicle computer: it is not necessary to disconnect the battery in order to install the SWS control unit.F Ability to detect different voltage levels on the same wire (eg. Tail/Fog or Tail/Stop on the same wire / PWM).F No feedback of signal to vehicle (independent test report available on request). F Programmable for individual vehicles using programming tool – no need to identify wires first. F Possibility of disabling one or both vehicle fog lamps when the trailer is connected (compulsory in some EU countries) – using version XL or Elite.F Indicator bulb failure warning option via an audible alarm (compulsory in certain EU countries) – using version XL or Elite.
